• Noir version of Spider-Man exists in the “Great Depression”-Era of New York in the 1930s. Aunt May is a speaker of equality and spends time standing on a soap box shouting her beliefs. Uncle Ben was killed by a crime syndicate run by Norman Osborn, aka The Goblin. Shortly afterward, Peter is bitten by a strange spider and endowed with mystical spider-powers by a Spider God. Though he has no wall-crawling ability, he has increased agility, strength, a form of spider-sense, and can spray nets of webbing from his hand. He then dons a black mask, gloves, and a trenchcoat and sets out to stop Norman and his gang. In the beginning of the first issue, he is framed for the murder of J. Jonah Jameson. This version of Spider-Man appears in the game, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

  • NHL 98 took the NHL series ahead by introducing full national teams, although EA could not get the Nagano Olympic Tournament license due to lack of IIHF license, which Gremlin Interactive acquired. The Olympic hockey license itself was acquired by Midway Home Entertainment. Jim Hughson returns for play-by-play, this time joined by Daryl Reaugh, who provided color commentary. EA Sports also introduces 3Dfx Glide support for the first time in the NHL series. The SNES and the Genesis versions are the final games in the series to feature 2D graphics. The Sega Saturn version has Mario Lemieux in it. He retired at the end of the 1996–97 NHL season, yet was still included in the game.

  • A couple times over the past few years, we’ve decided to sit down and take a good, cold, hard look at the PlayStation 2 library and select the best of the best to let you know what our favorites were and remain. Even though the system is fighting with every last breath to stay alive, it’s still surprising to us that new games continue to creep into our list. So, because it’s been a while, we figured it was time to look at our picks again and update our choices for the best PlayStation 2 games of all time.

  • The women of Mortal Kombat are strong, fierce and scantily clad fighters. Their costumes are perfect for cosplay, that is if you happened to be a model. NetherRealms agrees with me and will be having models dressed as Sonya Blade, Mileena and Kitana attend the Mortal Kombat tournament at The Gadget Show on April 17 in Europe.
